Hello Caroline,
I can well imagine this shoe for the purpose mentioned. Regarding the size, you can take another look at the size chart. The manufacturer also provides the foot length here. With a shoe like this, there should be about 1.5 cm space at the front.

Only recommend for ice climbing
These boots are very stiff and quite heavy. The grip is also not good so need to be combined with ice grips. They were very good for ice climbing but not a lot else! Would not recommend for snow shoeing, hiking, or just walking around town in the snow due to grip.
