Nice and comfy but what's up with the sizing?

Really nice for UK winter, comfy and cosy, feel secure and like they'd have a good grip. I ordered a UK size 5.5 (apparently USA 7) but they've arrived and felt snug. When I checked the inside shoe label it says UK 4.5 USA 7. Nothing on the page suggests different sizing and my other Xero shoes are all 5.5 UK / USA 7...... Makes no sense
