I bought these boots because I was looking for medium weight leather lined boots with a good rocker sole for my slightly arthritic toe and the Renegade fitted this remit well.
At first I though they were great, but then saw that the tongue was connected to the rest of the boot by rather flimsy non leather material. This is really hard to see in the pictures, but if you look carefully at the picture of the front of the boot on the web page then you can see. This material is unlikely to be waterproof and will deteriorate quickly. In fact I found a review that suggested that it got holes in it after a year. I would definitely not recommend this boot therefore, and I would suggest to Lowa that they go back to the drawing board and produce all leather tongues. I would like to say that AlpineTrek were super understanding and agreed with my return.
