Praise vs. Criticism
I just ordered a second pair
I have these shoes for the last 2 years, using them mostly to hike my local mountains in northern Croatia and Slovenia and some super-sharp-rocky mountains and hills on Dalmatian coast (those sharp rocks do destroy everything quickly so I would recommend proper mountaineering shoes for Dalmatia, but these got me by, and they did not get destroyed in 50 or so km that I walked around). After 2 years of using them I took them to Iceland and they worked there flawlessly! We hiked every day and there were sometimes 5 rain showers a day. They did remain comfortable and dry all that time. They are not warm though so for snow I always wear warm winter socks. After the Iceland adventure I decided to order a second pair, because it seems that they are more durable than they look like.

La Sportiva can do much better

I've been using these boots for a few months now and they are great, light, comfy also used them in deep snow with a pair of merino socks and they performed well.
The laces are worthless so I switched them and didn't have to stop every 5 minutes to tie them.

Having wide feet and having worn altra shoes until now I need to know if LA SPORTIVA - Stream GTX - Walking boots are suitable.
How big is the drop?
Hi Mike, La Sportiva , in general, tend to come up both short and narrow. I think it best that you look towards brands that offer a wider fit such as Lowa or Hanwag. La Sportiva offers heel to toe drop information for their running shoes, however, this information is not available for their hiking boots.
