Reviews overview
This is what other customers say:
W300 fabric is thicker than Filson 24 oz Mackinaw wool cruiser jacket and costs twice less.
I wear the jacket every day, and it proves to be incredibly reliable. I would be delighted to purchase pants made from the same material!
However, there is one drawback - when I roll up the sleeves, the back seam tends to catch on the open zipper, leading to thread damage.

The material is the best thing about this jacket. It's also durable, breathable and looks pretty great. Although it's heavy, it's fully woollen, so it's unavoidable. It still makes it less suitable for intense activity and hiking.
Biggest problem with this jacket is its cut. It's a slim fit which would be fine for a midlayer jacket, but as this is so heavyweight and stiff, it's an outerlayer piece. The slim cut makes it difficult to layer underneath.
The price is also hefty for what you get.

Hi Darren,
This material of this jacket does not really stretch and without question it would be much to heavy to use for scrambling / climbing or even hiking for that matter.
In regard to care , Mufflon state the following:
With wool, soiling and odors remain on the surface of the fibers and do not penetrate into the fibers. It is usually sufficient to hang the jacket in a well-ventilated place overnight; the odor will be neutral again the next morning.
To preserve the appearance and properties of your "Mouflon" for a long time, less is more. Wash infrequently, individually, with little detergent, and at a low temperature. When washing, we generally recommend hand-washing in cold to lukewarm water with a small amount of detergent for color products.
However, washing in modern washing machines with a wool or hand-wash program often achieves equivalent or even better results, as the mechanical stress on the fabric surface is the same everywhere. In any case, Mouflon products should be machine-washed individually.
After washing, spin dry, then shape while damp and dry flat. Avoid drying in the sun, on a radiator, or in a tumble dryer.
Dry-cleaning is completely inadvisable for this high-quality natural product.
I recently moved and had to do it quickly as the journey was long and the Muflon Randy hoodie got left behind and by the time I returned it was gone. I was so happy when I got it at a discount from Alpinetrek but because we left the European union nothing like that can be bought anymore.

I have only had this for a few weeks and TBH, the weather has been pretty warm. However, I totally love this jacket and am even looking forward to some cooler weather to test it out.
I am very concerned about the havoc that we are wreaking on the environment, and really want to support companies which are thinking carefully about their impact. I have also been thinking about wool - which is a superb material for humans to use to keep warm. It's really difficult to find garments which are not based on plastic/synthetic fibres in some way. Even companies calling themselves 'sustainable' still sell oil-based products, the fibres of which find their way into the sea, into fish, animals and into our bloodstream. So, after hours of looking, it was a pleasure to find Mufflon. Mufflon have been thinking about this stuff for a long time and have excellent credentials for sustainability - not just fake 'we are recycling the plastic stuff that pollutes the seas'. Mufflon also have thought about how their clothes feel, last and protect and not least - look great.
So, this is warm, really warm. It's quite heavy if you compare it to unsustainable alternatives, but in a reassuring way. I haven't tried it in the rain, but I think it would take a while for me to get wet. It's also quite soft - not like loden clothing. The cut is fantastic and it really fits me well - follow the fitting guide and you will be fine. Basically, I want more Mufflon in my life!
