04.02.2022Compromise between price, quality and performance
Snow shoes were used to approach to the climbing route and descent.
Bad side: The aluminum frame of the snow shoe has sharp edges as a result of production process. Too sharp to use straps of the backpack to secure snowshoes without risk of cutting them off. The way to solve the problem is to file the edges of the snow shoe frame. The metal parts of the snow shoe gets rusty even after short use (3 days). It is more about esthetic, not about functionality. Locks of the binding clogs with ice/snow and do not hold tension of the binding system, it is the issue to consider if used on challenging terrain.
Good side: the snow shoes are robust. They provide good side grip traversing steep hard snow slopes.
- Advantages
- Robust binding
- Price / performance
- Good grip
