Hiked in the Pyrenees with them, I found them to be great lightweight shoes with lots of traction, even with a heavy backpack they remained comfortable and allowed me to push further faster..
Not really a downside, because the lacing is like a running shoe, going down steep hills the feet tend to slide forward unless really tightened.
