Got mine to take to mountains in hunting and fishing expeditions without set duration, where there is only limited water that we can carry in.
Used it many times. Never failed.
Actually took a sample of collected water from a water source and then another with the pump and put it under a microscope. I admit that I am impressed with how well the pump performs. Never tried a different brand, but for sure I don't feel the need to honestly.
The only thing is that it requires good care and not lots of sun exposure, or the rubber might start to dry out and crack.

There is indeed a replacement kit, but we unfortunately don't sell it. It is called: MSR TrailShot filter cartridge and mainenance kit.
