21.12.2025High performance classic
After some use, the shoes adapt to the specific structure of a person's feet and become more comfortable and suitable for both stepping on edges and extremely small sloppy steps that require high friction and sole bending to hold on. The shoes are suitable for high-class climbing on slabs and vertical rock, but also do a great job for overhanging terrain and any other type of rock or indoor climbing. The Niad allow full use of the feet when climbing and maximum possible transfer of own weight onto the foot steps that climbing shoes can provide. Thus, a person can fully realize his or hers sports technique and be effective, saving the energy of the forearms.
This model should never be discontinued. It is a classic.
It should be mentioned that I used to wear a five-ten Anasazi size UK 8. After Adidas started making five-ten, I wear a Niad UK 9. That's the size of my Adidas running shoes.

I got size 10. I wear a normal shoe size of 10 but this was way too small, cramped and painful. Disappointing as I would usually go a half size smaller.
Aside from that I've had the Anasazi climbing shoes before and they were fantastic. Sticky, great edging. Wore on long alpine routes, short sports routes, indoor, trad etc. All round excellent. I was hoping for the same with these... but I will return and try a bigger size but it's a hassle.
Fingers crossed the size 11 is a better fit.

Bought these to replace a pair of Scarpa Veloces as I have a wide forefoot and these looked suitable for mixed-use climbing. They are definitely "wide" and have a more "squared" toe profile than other shoes I have tried on and therefore were quite comfortable without allowing the shoe to rotate around my foot (a problem i was experiencing with the veloces). They also provided much greater edge stability/confidence than my veloces.
However, the smearability of the 5.10's left a lot to be desired, especially compared to the Scarpa's, as i felt my feet were slipping where they would not have previously. Also felt as though i blew through the soles of these far quicker than my veloces, but this could just be due to me toe-dragging more than I would like to believe :B
All in all, good intermediate shoe for mixed-use. Laces help with dialling-in the fit and preventing relative movement between foot and shoe. However, rubber is not the stickiest.

i use Tenaya RA EU 44, what size should i get for same fit?
Hi Marin, 0.5-1 size down from street size should be about right for a good performance fit.
