Perfect to sit on as it's very comfy and insulates well. I've used it winter camping and it's definitely useful to carry with you. Doesn't take up much space either - I strap it to the outside of the pack and it's good to go.

Love how light and practical it is, and it does note soke up water.
The downside is that it's really fragile. Even cut grass can puncture and penetrate it, not to mention tree bark and rocks leave impressions.
