bluesign® PRODUCT is an international label for textiles that sets requirements for chemical management, environmental protection and occupational health and safety along the supply chain. It applies to clothing, home textiles, accessories as well as fibres, yarns and fabrics. The criteria include the exclusion of substances that are particularly harmful to the environment and health, the control of waste water and air emissions, the efficient use of resources and occupational safety requirements. All components of a product must fulfil the bluesign® criteria, and compliance is checked at both suppliers and manufacturers. The aim is to reduce risks for people and the environment and to create transparency throughout the entire textile supply chain.
