Great for hikes, small but gives enough light.
Big plus for me is the button locking so you don't accidentaly turn it on in your backpack and arrive at your destination with empty batteries.

Would recommend buying the 1500 battery and charger along with it, because it really goes trough those AAAs like crazy.

My Spot 400 was delivered today. First impressions: a very good do-it-all headtorch, and at a very good price. You can use AAA batteries.
For me, the 'Power Tap' function works best if I gently pinch both sides of the headtorch with finger and thumb.
