Reviews overview
Praise vs. Criticism
Comfortable.
I am 181 cm tall, 102 cm chest 82 cm waist and my arm “Ape index” is 6 cm longer.
I bought size M, and it fits perfect, it's especially good on the arm length as it has thumbholes, and it does not stretch the arm material with my long arms.
The top is stretchy, which is great for movement.
The fit is excellent for my body type, and I can wear a base layer underneath it and an outer layer over it without it feeling bulky.
The only downside is it pills easily both on the inside and the outside, and It's starting to lose its shape, but that is the general trade-off you make between wool and synthetic fabric. The quality of the stitching and attention to detail is exceptional.
- Advantages
- Good details
- Good cut
- Disadvantages
- Pills easily
- Recommended use
- All around
Is this even really wool?
I bought this to replace a beloved wool-blend jacket from another manufacturer but I was very disappointed. The Stoic doesn't look, feel, or smell like merino wool. It performs like an ordinary synthetic/cotton jacket, not wool. It makes me wonder whether there was really a sheep anywhere in the picture.
Oh, and the zipper is terrible. Avoid.
- Disadvantages
- Bad zip
- No discernible wool
- Recommended use
- Leisure
