Is this coat suitable for trekking with a backpack? How many layers?
Hello. I am looking for hardshell raincoat that's good for hiking with a 40l backpack but also stretchy and lightweight. I was wondering if this omnitech coat would be a good choice or if it's not made to withstand the backpack wearing.
Thank you in advance.
Any tips for other coats are welcome, but unfortunately I am on a tight budget.
Thanks for your help!
Hi Katrien,
Columbia do not actually state any information regarding the make up of the membrane but based on the weight of the coat I think it safe to say that the material will not be durable enoughfor your needs. Best to look for a jacket with a 3 layer membrane. Price wise however, it will be much more expensive.
