Ortovox: Safety equipment & sportswear

Gerald Kampel and Jürgen Wegner developed the first double-frequency device ORTOVOX F2 in 1980 for finding people caught in avalanches. The device reached the number-one market position in just two years. The ORTOVOX deep snow backpacks and ORTOVOX avalanche shovels were launched in 1985, and wool sports clothing was added to the range in 1988.
