The Petzl Sum Tec Schaufelkopf is made for steep walls and rugged terrain. This ice axe is perfect for mixed terrain, adapting easily to virtually any mountaineering activity from mixed climbing to ice climbing. With the slightly angled aluminium shaft, this ice axe will get you up steep walls and its hard steel Ice pick bites into hard ice with ease. The hand rest will take the strain off of your forearms when you're not using a wrist strap.
This version of the Sum Tec comes equipped with an adze you can use to build a deadman or chop steps. The holes on the head and spike are perfect for attaching a cord or carabiner. All you alpinists out there will find exactly what you're looking for in the Petzl Sum Tec Schaufelkopf!
