Faut-il les imperméabiliser avant leur premier usage?

Je les ai utilisé les d'une randonné dans la neige et au bout d'1h l'eau s'infiltrait: j'ai fini les pieds totalement trempé et la chaussure amis 2jours à sècher sur un radiateur!
