Reviews overview
This is what customers from around the world say:
I bought this for top-rope soloing and, as far as the climbing and falling off bits are concerned, it worked well. However, when practicing to change to abseil in a free-hanging situation, I found it difficult to get the krab out.
IMHO, this is because there are 2 separate plates which are relatively far apart thus necessitating a sort of double movement. Even with a noseless krab I managed to get it stuck between the plates. Subsequent to this, despite my best efforts, I had to put it under load which then distorted the device to the extent that it wouldn't go up or down - and had to be removed from the rope by brute force.
I bought the Spoc out of frustrated as Ive had to absail down a line and prussic back up enough times and with a new interest of trying TR solo this device was the perfect fit.
I've used this device a few times, but hope to give it a try in a unassisted hoist while brushing up on skills
