Reviews overview
This is what other customers say:
Sadly I had to return this beautiful and well constructed shoe because it caused me physical pain, literally. I have a fairly wide foot 27,7 cm long and 11.5 cm wide at the widest part with a relativelly high instep. These shoes were tight in the toebox area, but more importantly cut in my instep (upper foot) on multiple places. This is, of course, unacceptable and I returned them and exhanged for mountain racer 3, which are similar, but fit slightly more comfortably. Still not perfect, but better.
Please be aware when buying these shoes that the instep is cut quite low (Topo trade I guess) and you cannot really fix it with relaxing your laces. If you have "normal" feet, you'll be happy!

I'm sorry for your experience.
I bought a pair of Pursuit 2 for the Camino de Santiago in April 2025.
I walked 260 km without any problems, walking through rain, snow and sun.
I used Altra Timp and Lone Peak until last year and I can say that Topo Athetic are much more resistant, I compared Altra and Topo, with which I walked the same distance.
In addition, and most importantly, this year I didn't have blisters :).
Yeah, I tried multiple Altras and didn't like any of them at all. I found them poorly built and plastiky. I really really like Topo shoes so far (I have the atmos and pursuit 2). I like their sole and contruction and design...it's just the instep that is making things complicated for me :/
Next pair will likely be something more minimalist like the st5, as both the pursuit and atmos could be considered maximalist shoes...
You don't actually know what you want if you switch from the Atmos to the St-5. They're completely different shoes for different needs.
I never said anything about switching. One can have multiple pairs of shoes for different purposes. One is a recovery shoes the other is a speedwork shoe. I got the Atmos as my first shoe as it costed 120 euros...the st5 was not available back then and I was not prepared to pay 180 euros for something similar...so I went for the recovery shoe as I had utilit, for it...the mtn racer is a trail running shoe and st5 is an everyday trainer / speedwork shoe..I honestly didn't think I'd need to clarify such basic points
