Reviews overview
This is what other customers say:
I bought a two litre and one litre Hydrpak bladder last year used them for the Pennine Way (4 weeks) no problem last year. This year deployed again for 5weeks on the Camino and they were unusable as they stank of ammonia or what smells like ammonia they contaminated the water which was a huge issue...what is the problem? Disappointed as they are not cheaper solutions..
Hi Fotini,
Sounds like those have either not been cleaned / stored correctly or they have been cleaned with something too harsh like bleach which has left behind a residue.
Best to give both a thorough cleaning / rinse.
Lemon juice is a great natural way to clean a water bladder and remove the plastic taste. Combine the juice of one lemon and warm water, swirl it around your water bladder, and then add approximately two tablespoons of baking soda. Shake the bladder and allow the solution to filter into the drinking straw. Let the solution rest overnight, and then drain and rinse thoroughly.
Vinegar is also an incredible cleaning agent—and it's another natural method to clean a bladder. Combine one tablespoon of white vinegar with warm water in your bladder, and mix well. Add one tablespoon of baking soda to the mixture, screw on the cap, shake, and let it rest for several hours. Rinse well before using, and repeat if necessary.
