Soto - GORA - Pot set tested

Writing this review as there is very little info out 'there' on this set. We made the decision to retire our old pans whose non-stick coating started showing up in our food. We wanted something that would stand up to long acidic cooks at home and on camp. Something that could handle daily use on the stove and in the dishwasher... enter Soto Gora.

This set is amazing. Sure there are foibles:
• Heavy to lift with the pot holder when full (you need a strong grip to keep the handle closed on the pan / pan + lid)
• No simmer hole
• Noisy to use
• Food can burn easy if on high heat and not stirring (they're not tri-ply)

But then the pros:
• They are bombproof
• They stack as efficiently as possible
• Work with any cooking style
• Grab lid + pan with the handle and they drain well
• Used lid as plates many times
• We are not precious about them
• They pour really well
• No metallic taste or leached chemicals

I was a little surprised that they were not finished to perfection but then they more industrial than TV chef shiny. We're so happy we have just bought the Gora Oven...

A truly utilitarian minimal set that will last forever.
