Recycled Claims Standard (RCS)

The Recycled Claim Standard (RCS) is an international standard from Textile Exchange that makes the proportion of recycled materials in products verifiable. It applies to textiles such as clothing, home textiles and accessories, as well as fibres, yarns and fabrics. The criteria include the traceability of recycled materials along the entire supply chain and compliance with the requirements of the Content Claim Standard (CCS). Both pre-consumer and post-consumer recycled materials are accepted. The identity of the recycled content is ensured by a chain-of-custody system that is verified by independent certification bodies at all stages of production.
