This is what other customers say:
I researched all the belay devices in the market and yet, Grigri is the most versatile, effective and safe to use. While it would not match an ATC while paying rope, it does compensate with its great breaking assistance mechanism.

The safest option for belaying, but quite heavy compared to a tubular belaying device.

Have been using it for a year and a half now, still no heavy signs of usage. Do use it a few times a week.
I still like an ATC guide better for sport climbing.

Thought I'd just let everyone know, I was a bit confused with the description referencing Grigri 2 model which is actually an older model. However, Mischa at Alpinetrek has confirmed to me the Grigri for sale is actually the new Grigri 2019 model. (Thanks Mischa..!).
