Product description
The ultimate pot for your outdoor kitchen
The Fire Pot from Petromax, often referred to as a Dutch oven, is ideal for cooking and baking outdoors or in the oven at home. Cast-iron pots have existed since the 18th century. Even in those days, the unique properties of cast iron were highly valued. With the Fire Pot, Petromax continues this tradition and adds a number of ingenious details. Petromax made a name for itself more than a hundred years ago with petroleum lamps and is now also at the forefront of utensils for the outdoor kitchen. The name Petromax is derived from the nickname Petroleum-Maxe of the company founder Max Graetz.
Cast iron Petromax quality
Due to the excellent properties of the cast iron and the special surface structure, the heat is efficiently stored and transferred. The pre-treated surface (seasoned finish) makes first-time baking unnecessary. The durable pot is ready for immediate use. Outdoors, it can be used on an open fire or with charcoal. The raised edge of the lid makes it possible to place embers or charcoal on the fire pot as well. This way, the fire pot is heated from all sides and is also suitable for baking bread, for example.
Sophisticated details that make cooking a pleasure
It features a durable handle that allows you to safely lift the fire pot. If you want to lift the hot lid, you can easily do so by using the Petromax lid lifter, which is also available in our shop. In addition, the practical thermometer feed-through makes it possible to check the temperature without having to lift the lid. Plus, the version with feet has three feet on the base of the pot and three on the lid to ensure stability. The lid can also be used as a pan when turned upside down. That way you get a pot and a pan in one! The lid is adorned with the elegant Petromax logo, which has always stood for excellent quality and high-quality products.
Different sizes, with or without feet - for every purpose
The Petromax fire pot is available in different sizes and with or without feet. Without feet, the pot is better suited to be used in your oven at home. There is a suitable model for every group size, every purpose and every dish. If you like to cook outside and over an open fire, there is really only one choice - the Petromax Fire Pot! It combines durable workmanship with great details and versatility. With this Dutch oven, you’ll have a great time cooking outdoors.

Made fish soup directly on charcoal - a great experience but not designed for convenience.

Great quality oven, only used it once, but it's going to get a lot of use over the summer. Just as good as Lodge, who are one of the market leaders. The FT-9 is an excellent size for cooking for 10 people or so. The lid also works brilliantly as a griddle, and if you happen to have a Weber MasterTouch it fits perfectly in place of the GBS insert!
My only very small gripe is that the (really rather lovely) embossed design on the top makes oiling it a little more of a chore.
