Thanks to the leather upper and the Keen.Dry membrane, the shoes are completely waterproof. The membrane is also breathable, so moisture won’t accumulate inside. The quick-drying lining is ideal for tough tours. Another practical feature is that no unpleasant odours can develop even when sweating due to the antibacterial treatment.
Comfort and traction
The synthetic insole provides long-lasting comfort. The midsole your every step, preventing your feet from tiring out quickly. The stable outsole with multidirectional lugs provides excellent traction in varied terrain. I have had these boots for a few weeks and have covered over 200 miles so far. I use them for general walking.
I had been attracted to Keen as I was told they broke in easily by not causing blisters and had good all-round performance. I can vouch that this is not the case, having got a long blister at the base of my heel after 20-mile walk. The grip is okay on grass and paved roads but gives little more than my old worn boots on mud. Finally, I had my first experience in the rain the other day, the boots only kept water out for the first 5 miles and were sodden by 10. I would say their waterproofing is basic at best.
