Lightweight, abrasion-resistant backpack for high-altitude mountaineering
At the heart of the Alpha FL 20 from Arc'teryx is 315D HADRON AC² nylon with a grid structure. The material is noticeably lightweight yet exceptionally abrasion-resistant and designed to be waterproof – a combination that makes real sense for alpine use. Especially in changeable weather, the construction reliably protects your equipment without adding unnecessary weight. If you spend a lot of time on rocky terrain or the backpack regularly comes into contact with snow and ice, this choice of material pays off in the long term.
Flexible storage for technical equipment
The backpack is clearly designed around alpine requirements. A bungee system compresses the load or creates space for crampons, ice tools or a jacket. A top strap secures the rope, while two durable attachments hold ice tools securely. Operation remains easy even when wearing gloves, thanks to the drawstring main compartment with grippy pull tabs. For smaller items, there is an externally accessible zipped pocket protected from the weather as well as an internal security pocket with key clip.
The lightly padded shoulder straps are designed for durability and comfort without adding bulk. Together with the laminated back panel, they provide a stable fit that remains comfortable even with heavy or shifting loads. An integrated RECCO reflector is a useful addition to the safety concept and can help with locating you in an emergency.
