Product description
Light a fire or get a cooking fire going with the Petromax Fire Piston, whether you’re camping, staying in a tent, trekking or barbecuing in the garden.
Indigenous peoples have long known how to ignite tinder by compressing air inside a hollow cylinder. The Petromax Fire Piston revives this traditional technique in a way that’s as simple as it is effective. Place tinder in the piston head, then push the piston sharply into its sleeve. The compressed air generates temperatures of up to 400 °C, igniting the tinder. Use the glowing tinder to light a tinder bundle or a fire you’ve laid ready.
