This climbing shoe is ideal for outdoor activities, but is also perfect for indoor use and will impress you with its excellent fit and fantastic durability. Spirit is one of the most popular shoes from the Red Chili range and new innovative features are added every year. This shoe is not fazed by any climbing or rock challenges, because it has a sturdy midsole that offers excellent stability. A RX-2 4.2 mm thick sole rubber gives a lot of grip to the under surface and additionally ensures that the Spirit is more than just a beginner's shoe. The impact zone in the heel area lessens the impact of jumping off. Ideal for bouldering, as well as descents and walking passages in alpine multi-pitch route touring. The shoes can be adjusted with hook and loop straps, and the loops on the heels make putting them on and taking them off really easy. The padded toe area provides additional comfort, especially for medium wide feet. I do 6-7 UIAA so can't exactly tell you about how this would behave on Bibliographie, but this is a great shoe for beginner-to-intermediate face, slab and crack. Very precise on small edges, not very smeary though (the rubber is harder than XS Grip, and the last is partially rigid). Probably sucks at overhangs due to the straight, rather rigid last, but that's a design choice.
Fit is medium-wide (I have very wide feet and need to have the ball-of-foot velcro strap almost untied, but it worked). I bought them same size as my street shoe but a half-size lower would have also worked were it not for the wideness issue. Once I adjusted them properly, they were incredibly comfortable - could definitely wear them on an all-day big wall climb, once I start doing all-day big wall climbs ;) I don't know if it's the memory foam they brag about, but I've had less comfortable sneakers.
