Product description

Climbing shoes with a wide forefoot

Are most climbing shoes you try on just too tight at the front of the foot? Then the Fusion II from Red Chili could be the solution! Their wider forefoot area gives you more space and therefore more comfort. Thanks to the use of a microfibre upper, these shoes won’t stretch out either, instead remaining dimensionally stable. With a neutral last and medium pre-tensioning, you can perform just as well in the climbing hall as well as on the crag. In addition, the Red Chili RX1 sole provides sensitivity, durability and edge stability. So you can tackle small and shallow footholds with ease in these climbing shoes.

Closure made from Technora aramid

Is that a hook-and-loop fastener or lacing? You might hear this question a few times. Red Chili combines both with the Fusion II. This has many advantages, as you can quickly adjust them on the fly, your midfoot has a little more room to move around and the closure is not as rigid as with conventional hook-and-loop fasteners. Plus, these climbing shoes get sustainability bonus points with their closure. This closure consists of strong and abrasion-resistant lines of Technora Aramid, which were left over from the production of paragliders and have now been further processed into the Fusion II. Underneath the closure lies a 3 mm thick neoprene tongue, which provides extra comfort alongside ensuring an even distribution of force against your feet.

The advantages at a glance:

  • Wide-cut forefoot offers more space and comfort
  • Dimensionally stable toe box
  • Also suitable for small, flat footholds
  • Combination of hook-and-loop fasteners and lacing mean a quick adjustment to your feet
  • Neoprene tongue ensures even distribution of force

Chillis work well.

I have used chillis for many years. They fit my foot shape, they are durable and very effective for mid-grade sport climbing.
