Partners & Initiatives
of Bergfreunde
We believe that we can make a difference together with many others. We’re involved in various networks and work together with experienced external partners who support and help us implement various initiatives. You can find an overview on this page.

You can find even more information on our other sustainability pages:
act now! | Network
Since the beginning of 2020, we’ve taken part in "act now!" by Leaders for Climate Action. Not only do the leading German digital companies want to set an example for climate protection, but they also want to call on decision-makers to set a clearer course.
ClimatePartner helps us calculate our annual CO2 footprint. Based on the data we receive, we develop measures to reduce internal emissions. In addition, these emissions are offset through various projects.
Dopper Wave | Initiative against plastic
We’ve joined Dopper Wave in summer 2020 and have committed to eliminating single-use plastic bottles in our store. Plus, each of our employees received a reusable bottle that can be filled up at the water dispensers.
European Outdoor Group | Projects
As a member of the EOG, we work in various project teams to find cross-industry solutions. For example, we discuss the handling of plastic packaging during shipping and promote the use of recycled materials in the production process.
Jobrad | Mobility
With the help of a company called JobRad, we’re able to offer our employees the opportunity to lease a bike. We’re very happy that many enjoy using this means of transport for their commute to work, as well as in their free time.
Science Based Targets initiative | Our aim to reduce CO2 emissions
The SBTi was developed by leading climate and environmental protection organizations to support companies in limiting their emissions by using a scientific approach. The SBTi is a collaboration between the CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). In 2021, we’re getting external help from ClimatePartner to define our company’s SCIENCE BASED TARGETS.
Stadtbienen e.V. | Urban beekeeping in Ergenzingen
For the first time in 2021, bee colonies will move onto our logistics centre in Ergenzingen. We’re cooperating with Stadtbienen e.V. and will have a local beekeeper look after the bees.
SysEleven | Website Hosting
Our website is hosted "green". This means that our hoster SysEleven uses green energy / compensation for its services.
VAUDE Academy | Consulting
The VAUDE Academy is VAUDE’s subsidiary company. The Academy supports companies, professional networks and organizations in their challenges with sustainable and fair business. The team helps us define our goals and build up structures.
CLIMATE PROTECTION IN BUSINESS
Let's achieve more together! We are convinced that climate protection is something that concerns us all. And solutions can only be found if businesses get together to develop innovative ideas. That is why we are sharing our journey towards achieving greater climate protection in this white paper.
