Good morning, searching for a pair of hiking/trailing trainers that will fit the purpose, be also appealing to my style and not break my budget is not very easy. I keep short listing a few models then rethink. The one that I seem to keep is the Mizuno Wave Ibuki 3 and Ibuki 3 GTX for its simple but also technical design. However I am not certain it is the appropriate choice as I am not a trail runner. However the description seems to indicate that it is suitable for hill walking. I have also read on other sites that it is suitable for light hiking only. I live in rural Portugal and I belong to a hiking group in nearby Spain. My partner and I are also walking our region, mostly trails that are not too demanding but some of our walks include trails with loose stones and some easy rock climbing on parts of the walks. Will this be a good choice or would it be better to choose a pair of sneakers that would have more grip in the style of the Scarpa Rapid which looks I really like though I would rather not go that expensive and would prefer staying below 110 euros if possible. Would the Ibuki 3 offer enough protection in comparison to something in the style of the Viking Anaconda GTX for example? Would I really need to choose Gore Tex since we are mostly hiking when the weather is good and dry in general? If you think the Ibuki 3 would do, I am a 40 to 40.5 size with a normal to narrow foot, what size would then be best for Mizuno? Many thanks, Armand.
Hi Armand, based on what you've described it sounds like these will work great for you. Trail runners are often a good choice a light/responsive walking shoe :-)
