Product description

Expedition boots for rock, ice and snow

With the Nordwand 6000 High expedition boots from Mammut, mountaineers are perfectly equipped for alpine climbing tours, mixed climbing and ice climbing. To this end, these crampon-compatible alpine boots feature removable liner boots and gaiters with waterproof zips. In addition, the weatherproof boots are equipped with a stiff Vibram sole that guarantees you the optimum fit and athletic performance when climbing on rock and ice.

Mountain boots from the Eiger Extreme series

The Nordwand 6000 High from Mammut aren't just suitable for the highest Alpine peaks, but are also perfectly prepared for expeditions to Nepal, Patagonia or Alaska. These waterproof and windproof boots are comprehensively insulated, with an insulating carbon insole, elastic sock construction and Aluminia Insulation, they keep your feet reliably warm even in icy conditions.

Plus, the Ascension Expedition Litebase sole from Vibram offers excellent grip on rock, scree and snow even without crampons. However, in combination with the crampons, the boots transform into a grippy unit that are perfectly capable of handling vertical ice surfaces. On the liner boots, a Boa twist lock closure alongside a two-zone lacing system ensures easy operation and a precise fit, allowing the Mammut boots to fit absolutely perfectly, without slipping or pinching.

Hi Eric, The stiffness will be very similar if not the same as all three are suitable for vertical ice with a fully automatic crampon.

Question from DEVAIAH PATTADA
08.10.2022
What the difference between the normal and GTX version of the model

Hi,
Yes I understand that GTX stands for Goretex. However, this website has two models as below:
MAMMUT Nordwand 6000 High GTX
&
MAMMUT Nordwand 6000 High

As per the info provided, everything is same. But there is a considerable price difference. I would like to know the specific differences between the boots.

Will be glad if any experienced folks answer this.

Thank's a lot!

Hi Devaiah, Apparently , the only difference is the inner lining and the inner lining of the GTX model being made from a mix of Gore-Tex Duratherm Insulation and Gore-Tex Infinium Thermium. The non GTX boot uses Alumina Insulation.

Hi, thanks!
But which one is better? Could you please help me with it?

I couldn't say one was better than the other. Both boots are otherwise the same and certified to EN ISO 20334. The choice is yours!

Does it mean this boot had no GTX insulation?

This boot uses Alumina Insulation rather than Gore-Tex Duratherm.
