Cushioning polyurethane midsole and insole with an insulating layer

The boots feature a cushioning midsole that ensures comfort and is ideal for winter hikes and tours in unsteady weather and cold conditions. The polyurethane plastic is a foam that has very good cushioning properties. The many small bubbles will retain their shape and spring back to their original state even if they are frequently compressed. This ensures a good rebound effect. Another great feature includes the removable insole, which is equipped with a very thin and airtight aluminium foil that serves as an insulating layer to keep out the cold from below and retain heat in the boot.

The Vibram Evo Icetrek outsole offers excellent traction in winter conditions. The sole is based on the proven combination of multifunctional tread design and optimised rubber compound. The Icetrek compound used was developed for low and medium temperatures in winter to improve grip on very cold, icy or snowy surfaces. They’re completed by reinforcements on the toes and heels for enhanced safety on more demanding terrain.
