Product description

Modern indoor climbing shoes for professionals

The Theory from La Sportiva are particularly soft, responsive climbing shoes for professionals, with a focus on modern indoor bouldering. Wherever the highest levels of friction and dynamics are required, as well as great versatility in footwork, this is where the Theory show their strengths. Spectacular, volume-heavy competition-style bouldering is clearly the domain of these shoes.

Construction

These shoes feature a particularly aggressive design, with a strong downturn, strong asymmetry and strong pre-tensioning. As a result, they are incredibly precise shoes that facilitate a greater power transfer.

The sole construction is particularly well thought out. The Vibram XS Grip 2 rubber sole is very soft and extremely high-traction, making it ideal for supporting your weight with just friction. In addition, it varies in thickness depending on the foot area. It is thicker where more precision is needed for smaller footholds and ledges. However, it is thinner where sensitivity and flexibility of the toes are required. This achieves an optimal balance between sensitivity and edging stability. Meanwhile, the heel area features a reduced volume, thereby offering greater precision when heel hooking. Conversely, a large high-traction rubber area on the instep makes toe hooking easier.

Fit

The Theory are best suited for medium to large volume feet. Plus, a very flexible toe area makes them suitable for most foot shapes.

Conclusion

These shoes are made for modern indoor sport climbing and especially for indoor bouldering. If you like to visit the most innovative bouldering and climbing gyms and want to tackle the most difficult problems there, you will find that the Theory are just what you've been looking for.

The advantages at a glance:

  • Incredibly soft indoor climbing shoes for specialists
  • Aggressive construction
  • Ideal for modern bouldering
  • Excellent hooking properties
  • Suitable for medium width feet
  • Suitable for different foot shapes

Best indoor climbing shoes

I am using these shoes for several months for indoor bouldering. They are excellent in flexibility, toe hooking, heel hooking and smearing. Levels above all other shoes I have tried in case of secure step on bad holds. For now I have nothing negative to report, as I am really satisfied with them.
