Product description

Performance-oriented all-rounders with outstanding sensitivity

The Skwama from La Sportiva are climbing shoes for advanced climbers and boulderers. These versatile shoes are very powerful and offer a high level of sensitivity and precision while providing light support and weight relief. They are ideal for technically demanding bouldering within the medium to high difficulty range as well as for shorter sport climbing routes. Thanks to their relatively tough construction, you can also use them out on the crag without any problems.

Construction

The shoes feature a downturn, strong asymmetry and strong pre-tensioning. This definitely puts them in the category of performance shoes, which are best suited for very technical climbing and bouldering, where the highest precision and flexibility are important. In addition, the sole construction is relatively soft in the forefoot area, thereby offering excellent sensitivity for each foothold. Meanwhile, in the heel area, the shoes are equipped with a so-called S-heel shell made from textured rubber that is characterised by its dimensional stability. As a result, heel hooks are one of the Skwama's top specialities. In the midfoot area, the proven P3 system ensures that the shoes do not deform.

Fit

In order to allow a high degree of precision despite the rather soft construction, La Sportiva has paid attention to a close-fitting, slip-on style fit, which in the best case - depending on the shape of your foot - prevents pressure points and empty space. In combination with their strong pre-tensioning, the Skwama are therefore not the best shoes to wear for long multi-pitch climbing tours. Size-wise, they are best suited to medium width feet.

Conclusion

Wherever you have to perform a variety of hooks, stand on small footholds and need plenty of friction, the Skwama are at home. Overhangs and slabs are the domain of these shoes. For all advanced climbers and boulderers who are looking for shoes that can master technical problems and also offer great versatility, the Skwama are the perfect shoes.

The advantages at a glance:

  • Sensitive climbing shoes with a close fit
  • Ideal for technically demanding bouldering and shorter sport climbing routes
  • Suitable for hall and crag
  • Strong pre-tensioning
  • Soft sole construction
  • Excellent heel hooks thanks to sophisticated heel technology
  • For medium width feet

Love with pain

I use my Skwama for a month, mostly indoor bouldering and outdoor rope climbing. My street shou size is 46 and i choose 44 from this shoe. It fits really well, but we have used to each other. After 20-30 hours of climbing, start to have more and more comforatable, the heel fits perfectly, however it press my index nail a bit...maybe it's just for my feet. I think i choose a really good shoe, and i love it!
