Product description

The Alverstone II GTX by Hanwag is a mountaineering boot through and through. This high-quality, fully-featured boot feels right at home hiking in the Alps.

This revamped model of one of Hanwag’s classics comes equipped with a tried and true Vibram outsole. The sole not only promotes a smooth heel-to-toe transition to prevent fatigue on those long treks when you’re carrying a heavy pack, but also features impact and braking lugs for surefootedness in any terrain, regardless of whether you’re going uphill or downhill. Plus, there’s a climbing zone at the front as well.

If you run into some rain or pick up the intensity, the breathable and waterproof GORE-TEX lining will keep your feet nice and dry.

Another great thing about this boot is that it’s around 15% lighter than its predecessor but still retains the same stability and cushioning.

Because of its cemented construction, the Hanwag Alverstone II GTX is resoleable, so even if you wear down the sole, you can get it resoled and enjoy this high-quality boot for many years to come!

Comfortable and grippy, lightweight summer boot

I've been using this boot for several months and whilst it took a few weeks to break in properly I'm now very happy with the overall feel and fit of the boot. It's quite stiff which means good support on longer treks, but also lightweight which reduces fatigue. I have slightly wide feet so went up half a size from usual. I've also added a Sidas insole to increase cushioning & arch support.
