Well, the name says it all: it's a sleeping bag for polar temperatures!The Fjällräven Polar -20 (temperature indication for men) is an extraordinarily warm down sleeping bag designed for winter tours (e.g. in Scandinavia), mountaineering and expeditions.Believe it or not, one kg European goose down of premium quality has been used as filling material! With its outstanding fill power of at least 700 cubic inches and the best possible ratio of 95% down, the natural insulation fabric fulfills all the requirements for spending nights in ice cold weather! The down is organised into box baffles, which don't require quilting and guarantee maximum insulation (no cold bridges caused by seams)!The features of the sleeping bag are adapted to the requirements of winters. Particularly when the fingers are frozen and stiff, a simple and quick operation of the equipment becomes especially important! That's when the Polar -20 impresses with its easy-to-operate drawstrings and extra-long leather flaps on the zippers, which are easily accessible, even with gloves on. Equally practical are the removable fur collar made of acrylic and the two-way zip on both sides, which enable you to put your arms out of the sleeping bag, without having to get out of it completely. The cut of its hood is based on the hoods of warm winter parkas by Fjällräven and consequently, features a tunnel-shape. Thanks to the faux fur, no cold can reach the face from the sides when the tent or bivouac is open. Moreover, there is an additional draft collar in the inside.The zipper features a flap on the inside to prevent it from getting caught and the flap is also quilted into individual baffles to prevent the formation of cold bridges. The outer material is robust and snow-repellent. Furthermore, the cut is rather tight-fitting, which ensures good insulation of the sleeping bag. However, you can still wear a warming inlet or a layer of merino underwear underneath.
