Product description

The Shaman by Evolv - the centrepiece of the Chris Sharma Signature Series. One thing about these climbing shoes is for sure - they are the work of professionals. Tension Power system, high heel tension, aggressive downturn, 'Knuckle Box' and 'Love Bump' - to name just the most important keywords. If that sounds like too much jargon for you, but you still want to know what the shoes have to offer, read on!

First of all, the Shaman has three opposing hook-and-loop buckles for the most adaptable fit possible. There are a few special things about the fit in general: The high heel tension is built up over the heel. As a result, the shoes are considerably tighter at the back (more grip for hooking) and, in combination with the downturn, i.e. the curving of the sole, enable strength to be concentrated in the front of the foot This, in turn, makes it easier to stand on small holds and in holes, as well as to pull up by the feet when climbing on the ceiling.

The 'Knuckle Box' complements the whole design and provides enough space to curl even big toes. The 'Love Bump' fills the space under this curve and keeps the toes in their bent position. This takes the strain off the musculature and focuses strength onto the foremost tip, where there is thick rubber for increased durability. Typically of Evolv, the soles are made of high-friction TRAX rubber and their asymmetric shape provides a good grip even when side-stepping onto small holds. This makes Shaman the absolute high-end shoes for experienced climbers and professionals who aren’t afraid of gnarly bouldering problems, steep overhangs and demanding sports climbing routes!

Please note: We recommend purchasing the Shaman in the same size as your ordinary shoes. If you don’t like too tight a fit, you can purchase a half or full size higher.

Note: to help you find your size, Evolv has categorised the fit into three groups based on your objectives: Max Performance, Performance and Comfort.

  • Max Performance: this is your street shoe size. This fit is designed for the best possible performance, perfect for pushing your limits. You will need to break in the shoes.
  • Performance Fit: if you prefer a snug fit that is comfortable to wear from the start, add half a size to your street shoe.
  • Comfort Fit: if you prefer a comfortable fit for multi-pitch climbing or if you're a beginner, then add 1 to 1.5 sizes to your street shoe.

Great shoe for most purposes.

I have worn it on many types of rock and has gripped very well, the rubber is far better than my instinct vs by scarpa. They are so good i have bought a second pair to account for my different sized feet.

"wide foot" not true

I have wide feet and couldn't even get my foot entirely in the shoe they were so narrow. Very disappointing when they are advertised as being wide foot.
