This is situated underneath the upper and makes the shoe both waterproof and breathable. That way, only the uppermost layer of the shoe will get wet, which not only keeps your feet dry but also has a positive impact on the weight of the shoe. Comfortable waterproof boot

Had these boots several weeks now. Purchased for local walks around forest tracks riverside walks etc. Surprised to find they are actually waterproof, other boots don't often live up to that claim.
Very pleased with their performance.
