The Tiger Wall 2 Platinum is part of the Crazylight series from Big Agnes, which are crazy-light tents that are perfect for going light and fast. So, if you’re planning a long trek along the Camino de Santiago or the Pacific Crest Trail, going on a bike tour along Europe's rivers or just summiting a local mountain and staying there for the night, this tent is a good way to go.
This minimalist 2-man tent is made of very lightweight material to save weight. The fly and floor are made of ultra-light ripstop nylon, which boasts a high tear strength and has been treated with silicone for UV resistance and increased durability. For waterproof protection, Big Agnes has added a high-quality PU coating as well, so windy and rainy weather shouldn’t be a problem. However, as this is an extremely lightweight tent, it is still advisable to use a footprint and choose a protected, slightly elevated location. To keep the weight of all components to a minimum, Big Agnes opted for DAC Featherlite poles to support the minimalist structure. Only by anchoring the tent down will it be sturdy enough and obtain its full volume. For additional headroom and comfort, there’s a cross pole over the top of the tent as well. This little addition makes a world of difference when you’re changing clothes or playing cards in the evening.
In addition to its lightweight and functional construction, the Tiger Wall 2 Platinum has the following features:
- two vestibules with storm flaps over the 2-way zip
- two entrances with a dual zip and door keeper on door
- structured foot-end corners create more usable space between feet and tent wall
