the lock is super secure, just opening it requires some finesse.

Difficult to open elox wears very quickly
I use it for self-belaying. I have no idea if it will open upon contact with the rope.
It is more difficult to handle with gloves than a screw carabiner.

The locking mechanism is easier to use but amazingly secure. In addition, the combination of the anti cross load and round stock carabiner (to last a bit longer) is hard to come by
