Bought these in August 2020. Used for less than 10 hours on paved paths and already the sole has started to wear down. The heel had a dark rubber compound but that has worn away in parts to a soft light grey compound underneath. I can press the places and it feels as if it's an air pocket not solid. I can't see these lasting another 10 hours before they have worn through.
I have contacted Aku but no response .
I have two other pairs of made in Italy Aku's that have Michelin soles. They have lasted a few years.
I had a pair of Selvaticas that were so uncomfortable I had to send them back. Both pairs of Italian boots are fantastic.
The Alteras and Selvaticas were not made in Italy but the far east and I think they suffer from poor materials. Won't buy another pair unless made in Italy.
Hey Rukia,
the fit is rather wide. As with all hiking shoes, we recommend choosing at least one size bigger than your street shoes.
Best regards,
Max
